Autism Moms Coffee Date - "Without fail, I always walk away from these events feeling heard and seen by those who understand the chaos. They understand the joy. And they recognize and relate to the challenges as well. Karmen does a phenomenal job creating a space where both ourselves and our kids can exist without judgment, and with an overflowing amount of support. Villages like ours have to be made and pieced together. Karmen has a hand in all of ours, and I’m forever grateful for that.”

"I've attended coffee dates, mom's night out, and the teen hangout events. All have been great. It just feels like I can let my guard down and not have to worry about people giving me the side-eye because this group GETS IT. They're right there with you, every time. My teen loves the teen hangout event! He's super social in his own way and enjoys talking to everyone. I love being able to talk with moms of similarly aged kids - we share resources, events, and stories. I was able to connect with a mom whose daughter loves Sailor Moon, and I gave her daughter all my old Sailor Moon posters! She was super excited! Great connection moment, and a way for me to donate some of my no-longer-used things to someone who would really appreciate them."

"I have attended various get togethers. On a coffee meeting last year, a mother shared her child needed to get their adenoids removed which was causing snoring and poor sleep. My child had the same issue so I took him for an evaluation and sure enough his adenoids were enlarged. He had surgery and can actually sleep better and not wake up gagging for air! I never would have thought to have him checked for that if it wasn’t for that mom sharing her story. In general, I have learned so much from others and knowing I’m not alone makes this journey better.”

"I have attended some of the Mom's Coffee Dates and Mom's Night Out. It was so rewarding to know that I was not alone and to have a place to talk about things that no one else understands in a judgement free zone. The Mom's Night Out was so much fun, the women there are just incredible, so kind and empathetic. I highly recommend to any Mom to come and hang out, you will be supported and find that this is your community."

"I attended one of the coffee dates at Avery’s modern teahouse. It made a huge impact for me. It felt so freeing to be able to let my guard down around other moms who understand. It can feel really lonely but having a community like this made me feel heard and validated. I have become friends with a couple moms outside of meetings and it’s such a beautiful group to be apart of!"
